Roads, Traffic and Parking

I receive a lot of complaints about roads being used as a rat-run, constant traffic in certain areas, the speed of cars along certain roads and motorists generally disregarding the rules of the road.

Like planning, road, traffic and parking concerns are a matter for the Council, or in the case of ‘red-routes’ (identifiable by painted Red Lines normally), Transport for London (TfL).

For issues relating to ‘red-routes’ you may find that our local Conservative London Assembly Member, Steve O’Connell, will be better placed to deal with your complaint. You can contact him in writing to City Hall, The Queen’s Walk, London, SE1 2AA, by calling 0207 983 4405, or by emailing steve.o’connell@london.gov.uk. You can also visit his website here: http://www.steveoconnell.org/.

Otherwise you can get in touch with TfL directly by calling 0343 222 1234* (option 5) or using their online feedback and complaints form here: https://custserv.tfl.gov.uk/icss_csip/resetSession2.do?Standalone=yes&showmodulename=false.

All other roads are the responsibility of Sutton Council and you can report problems by visiting their website here: https://www.sutton.gov.uk/info/200194/parking_traffic_and_highways. Otherwise you can call 020 8770 5000. If the road is outside of the Borough, then check the website of the Council that is responsible or get in touch for their details.
